Apollo Awards in Rhodes
The customary event of the travel organization Apollo (a member of the DERTOUR group) took place on Monday 27.05, at Akti Imperial Deluxe Resort & Spa by Wyndham, and awarded the best hotels in Rhodes, Symi, and Tilos for 2023 as voted by visitors.
Commercial Director of Apollo Mrs. Nina Hornewall, CEO of Apollo Mr. Tobias Jönsson, and Senior Contract Manager Mr. Janis Frangiskos reviewed and analyzed last year’s figures and discussed goals and plans for 2024.
In the event, organized by DTS INCOMING HELLAS, was attended by Dodecanese MP Vassilis Ypsilantis, Deputy Governor of Culture and President of the Dodecanese Association of Travel Agents Christos Michalakis, President of the Rhodes Hoteliers Association Yiannis Papavasiliou, Honorary Consul of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden George Tselios, President of the Dodecanese Hotel Directors Association George Matsigkos, and DTS Rhodes destination manager Kyriakos Mastrides.
Welcoming local officials, hoteliers, and hotel executives, Mrs. Hornewall stated that for Apollo, Greece is overall the most important destination, with Rhodes being the second largest in the country (after Crete). Smaller destinations like Tilos and Symi are also significant. Mr. Tobias Jönsson expressed his enthusiasm for the destination and the hospitality.
Mrs. Hornewall, Commercial Director of Apollo/Dertour Nordic, announced that this year the organization managed to book 75,000 airline seats to Rhodes, with the number set to increase to 80,000 next year. Apollo’s program starts as usual in early April and lasts until November.
As emphasized by Apollo’s Commercial Director, Rhodes scores high in Scandinavian markets. She specifically mentioned that Rhodes’ NPS Score (Net Promoter Score), a key for visitor experience measure indicating overall loyalty, satisfaction, and enthusiasm through comments and feedback, has reached 43, the same as in 2019 before the pandemic. Additionally, the NPS Score of Rhodes hotels stands at 8.3/10.
